Re: Preserving the legacy of Tom Lehrer
Chris, I am a long-time fan of Tom Lehrer since about 1962. I think CPDL would be "appropriate", though I suspect Lehrer never intended his songs to be "appropriate". I would be willing to copy them here, if there is enough interest, especially the songs he wrote. Thanks for brin...

Re: Add works internal error
I suspect that the issue is the square brackets ( [ ] ) in the title. Since the title becomes part of the internet address and is used in several computer programs, special programming characters such as { } [ ] < > / \ | & @ % * + in the title usually cause problems. You should do the Add Work ...

Re: Each composer a lyricist?
You are correct, LyricistSettingsList should not appear on new composer pages, and I have removed it. Sorry for the delay.

Re: How to present the Genre information
Thank you, Chuck. I stand corrected.
About capitalization, I agree with you, and I will make the corrections as you ask. This is standard practice in MediaWiki. Does "General Information" also need correction?

Re: How to present the Genre information
1. I went through all the works with Genre|Other. All of them were converted to other values for Genre; there were several that appeared to need new values. I propose we add these two as Genres: Textless – For works originally without words, and Genre cannot be otherwise determined by the context (a...

Re: How to present the Genre information
I just went through 27 work pages with Genre|Unknown – it is as I suspected. There aren't any really "unknown" ones, not any more at least.

Re: How to present the Genre information
Yes. {{cat|}} could be added to the Description, or even to a Pub template, if there is an appropriate one.

Re: How to present the Genre information
Thanks for the comments, Richard! 1 – I agree with "user's point of view". "Polyphonic Lied" should be "Polyphonic Lieder" (plural); this subgenre was there last year, but I cannot find it now. I should have omitted it in this year's list. 2 – I see your point about &qu...

Re: How to present the Genre information
Please see introduction to ChoralWiki:Subgenres , with counts at ChoralWiki:Subgenres/Counts . 1 . Subgenres are still confused and confusing, but it appears the problem will continue to persist. It could be resolved if we could all agree on a classification (as implied in Carlos' first post above),...

Re: Damaged pages, the second
I have finished going through the list Claude sent (thanks, Claude!). I found some more pages by searching; in total I examined 85 pages, 29 work pages and 56 publication pages. I made major corrections to 42 of the 85. I think I found most of the errors; if you find more, please contact me.

Re: Damaged pages, the second
I'm afraid I was the one responsible for most of the changes to the Descr template in March. Between March 14 and March 22, I replaced '''Description:''' with {{Descr}} in about 40,000 pages. It was relatively easy at first, since the template is empty most of the time. After a while, it got complic...

There is another forum topic about Multi-Category Search. Currently MCS doesn't work correctly for some uses, which is tied to recent revisions of MediaWiki. I will work on this when I get time.

Re: wrong voicing
I just ran Multi-Category Search, with only SSSATB and limit=1000 set – 21 results. Category:SSSATB has the same 21 works; every one of them has an SSSATB edition. Not sure why yours isn't working: Maybe you had another item checked, like 6-part choral music? (To expand the tree in MCS, one needs to...
