Re: Is it possible to script changes to edition URL format?
Hi Mandy, A "replace text" function exists, which is restricted to administrators. I've tested it on the following 10 pages: notamos_replace.png Please check that everything is OK. For this test I used the normal text replacement function, which required two operations, however the functio...

Re: Database access problems on site
I've just blacklisted some IP addresses that had found new ways to produce high server load, and re-activated the so-called "Under Attack Mode" (UAM) offered by our CDN provider. The server load seems normal now.

Re: Database access problems on site
Hi Mandy, we are experiencing some issues with robots that crawl the whole website at a very high speed, causing a very high server load. We are trying to apply countermeasures, however the situation is still a little bit critical.

Re: Unable to log in
Hi Ben, Since some days we are subject to heavy DDOS attacks from hackers, probably due to the complex international situation, so I initially thought that it was just a temporary problem due to the huge server load. I've now realised that the reason is probably different: the email associated to yo...

Re: Using CPDL music as background music for lecture material
This is not clear to me. If, to make the background music, you use sheet music that is present on ChoralWiki, you have to follow the copyright policy of the specific edition (or editions) that you use. The situation may be slightly different in the case you use audio files available on Choralwiki ra...

Re: Using CPDL music as background music for lecture material
Hello, Could you please specify which specific contents (either sheet music or audio files) you intend to use? Contents at ChoralWiki are released under various copyright policies: the CPDL copyright policy is the most common, however others are also used and therefore a comprehensive reply requires...

Re: List women composers incomplete
I asked ChatGPT whether other women composers were missing. It provided a list of 10 names, however most of them were "false positives". It seems that in the list provided only Lili Boulanger was actually missing, I've added the category tag to her page. Maybe other prompts at ChatGPT may ...

Re: Cloudflare verification happening while editing; removing edits
Hello, you are the first user reporting a problem with the Cloudflare UAM (Under Attack Mode). The CPDL website was very aggressively crawled by many bots causing high server load and outages, essentially equivalent to DDOS attacks, so we are experimenting UAM as a solution to protect the website an...

Re: How to check copyright
The key factors that determine the copyright status are the following: the country where you are located, as copyright laws are different in each country; the copyright of the author(s). This generally depends on the year when author(s) died, although exceptions exist in certain countries (e.g., US ...

Re: Multi-Category Search Results Limit or Pagination
This is a dirty trick that probably provides quite similar results (10514) distributed on just 3 pages that can be easily browsed: https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Special:Search&limit=5000&profile=default&search=%22Voicing|4|%22+%22Language|English%22 Be patient because the que...

add the automatic detection of the file type to associate the corresponding icon when uploading a Dorico file I've implemented this modification, so, when an edition that includes a Dorico file is uploaded, the file type is automatically detected on the basis of the .dorico extension, and the Doric...

Re: Registration link expired
Some years ago CPDL was literally overwhelmed by spammers, who created hundreds of fake registrations and published thousands of fake pages. CPDL administrators were forced to activate an additional user validation system that is a little bit garbled: it handles a registration request first, which i...
