We've long had 2 approaches to instrumental parts: all in one pdf (handy for conductors/librarians, a pain for individual players) and separate parts (the other way around). I'm tempted to give up.

In the last few days I've consistently timed out and had no access to my watchlist. If it has to do with the ever increasing number of edits, is there a way to go directly to a "don't show minor/bot edits" view?

Thanks Carlos for gathering discussions now on at least 4 pages! it looks like there's a consensus not to have composer-specific conventions.

Thanks Max. The other day the main page wasn't loading on first try either, so maybe it was the Aurora Borealis. The same WP link (from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giulio_Caccini) works fine today.

The Wikipedia Template:ChoralWiki sent me to a Special page with the message "This is the CPDL Contributor ChoralWiki which requires registration to view…". Seems unnecessarily discouraging if one wants to browse (and I in fact was already logged in); is where the Cpdl link points somethin...

One can also of course add directly to the work page {{ScoreError|description}} with "see talk page" as the description if the list is very long.

I was puzzled as well as startled by the template-added Category:14-part choral music at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Missa_Gustate_et_Videte_(Marco_Antonio_Ingegneri)&oldid=602865 This brings up a problem in categorizing masses, hymns, Magnificats and other multi-movement works that...

But I still don't get the "why" of it. Wouldn't it be simpler to automatically give a unique number to each uploaded file than to have NNNNNmidi, NNNNNpdf &c and not make people jump through the submission process hoops?

Max, Perhaps it has been laid out elsewhere already, but could you please expand on the rational for CPDLnumbers? As one of many different types of users it's hard for me to understand whether it's useful to anybody to use separate edition numbers for transpositions of (the same) edition, or letter/...
