Vertical alignment columns of text

There have been several comments on talk pages and in emails about vertical misalignment of columns of text, when using templates Text or Translation. You can see examples on any page that uses these templates in multiple columns, using the templates Top, Middle, and Bottom. (The templates Mdl and B...

Re: A new category "odes to music"?

I think a new category would be appropriate, perhaps generalized to Category:Music about music – not all such are Odes. And you are right, Richard, this would not be a genre or subgenre; this is a cross-genre concept. See for example Music, when soft voices die (Charles Hubert Hastings Parry) . I cr...

Re: Source/author and copyright fields for translations?

Whilst there are both author (composer) and copyright (per edition) tags for musical settings, it seems to me that the same is missing for translations. I agree that there is not a satisfactory way to properly attribute translations as to author and place and date of publication. The same is true o...

Re: Elephant in the room

Thanks to several editors for their hard work! There are several "substantial" arrangements already on the page Hark! the herald angels sing (Felix Mendelssohn) , so I would like to merge Hark! The herald angels sing (Joseph Knapicius) with it. It is debatable, whether a substantial arrang...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles

Do your references also have Ein… Eine… Eines… under E?
Dictionary (again) says
  • ein, ~e, ~ (Artikel) a, an (Zahlwort) one prn one
, followed by a list of idioms beginning with ein.

Re: DefaultSort & German articles

A German dictionary has: das (Artikel) the prn who, whom, whose der (Artikel) the prn that, this, he, it die (Artikel) siehe: der So das , die , and der can be either an article adjective or a pronoun. As in Das hat er Alles uns getan , a stanza from a chorale by Martin Luther, BWV 91-6. Also known ...

Re: Dating of subsequent editions.

I believe it is correct now. Are the works in the correct editions? I didn't look at the 1607 edition or finish the manual list of works; I can do that later. The 1615 print at the Lithuanian library includes both books, index looks about the same to me, just a later printing? I don't know the dates...

Re: Template for new music publications

Inline documentation {{subst:newpublication}} is misleading. It only worked for me with upper / lower case. This is fixed now. NewPublication, Newpublication, and newpublication all work. I think that a column for season/liturgical use may prove useful to some (not me personally) Correct me if I'm ...

Thanks for the suggestions!
These are both used in quite a few publication pages. I will add them to the template.

Template for new music publications

There is now a template for use in creating new publication pages, Template:NewPublication. Comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome.
I am working on a form, it might take a while.

Re: Proper citation style for public domain text

I suggest you also add a References section, and cite the book, like ===References=== *Dickinson, Emily. 1951. ''The Poems of Emily Dickinson: Reading Edition''. Edited by Ralph W. Franklin. Cambridge, Massachusetts: Belknap Press of Harvard University. (or you could use another citation style) Then...
