that prolific and long-lived composer...

I just made a Category:Trent codices, thinking it would help to have subcategories of anonymous. The latter, however, is treated as a composer page and apparently maintained by hand! Is it best to leave it this way and just add lots of external links to the editions by Renato Calcaterra and others?

Re: List of categories

Thanks, the box now looks more conspicuous than it did to me before  The many red links make this a target-rich environment for someone with too much time on their hands. I of course made Category:Circumcision for the Mouton setting of the Gospel, and it seemed good to have it as a sub cat sin...

List of categories

The list at [[Categories]] isnt editable (which may be just as well) but it might be more fun if there was an alphabetical navigation bar: by the time I had scrolled through the numbers and gotten to people whose first names begin with A, I forgot what I was looking for (maybe it was a category for ...

Re: durations

This may be out there, but is it feasable to have [[:Category:pieces X minutes long]] contain pieces with {{duration|bottom range|top range}} rather than sweat what the category ranges would be and how overlap could be dealt with? ps. I wont say that "submit" instead of "save" is...

Re: durations

Glad to have made you laugh; it would certainly be a useful hunting ground for us two, at least. Of course measure talleys wont neccesarily be the same for multiple editions: even in Messiah there's that alla breve And With His Stripes, which in the orchestra parts is in 2/2 and in the Novello Score...

Re: durations

Ah, Vaarky,

I foresee a [[:Category:pieces one measure long]] well populated with Renaissance pieces ;-)

Glad to have put many good minds to work...

Re: Haydn Creation

I agree that adding to the main work page is more sensible.

durations

I was just looking around for a Stabat mater to fill a 38' slot (ruling out Haydn, alas) and realized there are almost no timings given in the description field. Could an Approximate duration: field be added to gen info? I suppose it would look like {{duration|shortest|longest}}, with maybe a parame...

Locked page?

I just tried to add a translation from Isaiah to Fürwahr, er trug unsere Krankheit (Melchior Franck), but got a "page blocked from editing" message. There's no explanation on talk page, and I'm wondering if this protection is common.

Re: Verse anthems

I agree too; I've been putting verse voices in the description field rather than as here. But the solo categories might be put to use as well, once they're sorted out.
