Re: Reorganisation of texts and translations

Template:Language categorised in <language> texts since Philip wrote it in the spring of 2006. In January 2008, I added the categorisation in "Works in <language>". Edit: Big mistake (by me  ): Philip's original template only pointed to Category:<language> texts, so you were right Ro...

Re: Reorganisation of texts and translations

I'm not sure what you mean by all of this, Chuck. Why would Template:Language categorize in Category:Texts? Don't you mean Template:Text? That was a typo, I meant to type Template:Text for Template:Langauge. But ... up until earlier today (when Carlos changed it), Template:Language did indeed categ...

Re: Reorganisation of texts and translations

If I run in full-screen mode )my resolution is 1280x1024 too), the 2-column display is almost balanced (2nd column has one extra line) ... there are still a few titles that do not display on one line, though. Some editing done, since I originally referred to Template:Language (which also categorizes...

Re: Reorganisation of texts and translations

Grrrrrr ... delay problems again clobbering my attempts to post this message (losing its previous content) ... three times already!! The two-column format is just as unbalanced as the three column format ... same number of titles in each column, but many more long titles (necessitating more th...

Re: Reorganisation of texts and translations

Also, if anyone has any idea why the DPL code leaves a large gap in the first column of the page I cited earlier, I would be grateful if they would shed some light on the matter. I'm sure that the large gap in the first column occurs because the vertical alignment of the first column is middle (not...

Re: Main site gives database error

The server migration is not yet complete. The main site is still operating in Read Only mode, but the server itself is very slow, and those lock timeouts occur rather frequently. I just loaded the Main Page and another page, though, so the success seems to vary.

CPDL in Read Only mode during server migration

Last night, the ChoralWiki at cpdl.org was put in Read Only mode, for a migration from the server that has hosted cpdl.org to a different one. Unfortunately, the problems with the server are greatly slowing down the migration process. The IT Operations group is hard at work trying to get a synchroni...

Re: CPDL down again

Unfortunately, the stanford server site that provides access to cpdl.org is down. We are hoping for a restoration of service soon. It just so happens that a recently established IT Operations group at CPDL has been working on upgrading the MediaWiki software that runs the CPDL ChoralWiki. A successf...

Re: Edvard Grieg or Edvard Hagerup Grieg

The move has been done, and at the same time as I updated the links, I was able to generate a complete "Edvard Grieg compositions" subcategory of "Compositions by composer". :)

Re: Voicing of works by Schütz

It is my understanding that the Kleine Geistliche Konzerte, I and II comprising the Leipzig Opus numbers 8 and 9 (SWV 282-305 and 306-336, respectively), were intended to be sung by soloists. This is in contrast to the Geistliche Chormusik Opus 11 collection which is clearly intended for chorus sing...
