Re: error message with addworks

I was trying to add https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Der_Ungelarte_(Wizlaw) . I didn't take time to trouble shoot whether external links in "Description" or collapsed "Edition notes" was the problem, and I'm now relying on memory for the actual line number. The code formatting...

Re: error message with addworks

Would it be easier to add line numbering to the form, or edit error messages? "Line 143" is something I had to fix by trial and error.

Re: Deleting old works

Alternatively, If you only want to update the files you can simply replace them: go to File:Adieu mamour I - agricola.pdf (well, now deleted, but for future reference the page starting "File:" … and continuing as the filename linked from the work page as "Media:" …) and look for ...

Re: Request pages

I have a similar perception: the forum is someplace I visit maybe once a month (unless I get an email about a specific thread like this one) and there's no watchlist to show me what's new so I dip into a few random threads with newish dates. I'd imagine anyone wanting to make a request would start f...

Re: Request page - See what has already been requested

I inadvertently started a new thread at: http://forums.cpdl.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11806 Better to continue here, probably. If we're going to encourage people to add contact information (or use the forum instead) I can easily add a note to ChoralWiki:Request a Score; I'm much to shy abou...

I remember only now this thread:

Better to continue there, probably.

Re: Request pages

For 1) template:request makes no provision, so one improvises: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Request:Pleurs_d%27Or_(Gabriel_Faure)&diff=1200630&oldid=1199304 For 2) the status parameter of the first line can be edited by hand: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Request:C%27e...

Request pages

I'd hate to see http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Category:Requested become a graveyard and while reducing it below 2 pages have started pondering <strike>a couple of</strike> various questions: 1) Should requests for works hosted externaly be kept in "Requested"? Some might be nice to ha...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles

Yes, for the last: "Eighteen chorales", "Eilmar, Georg Christian", "Ein feste Burg"… It occurred to me there might be a fundamental difference between first lines and titles, but Die Zeitalter des Barock has a " Register Der Gedichtanfänge und -überschriften "...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles

Difficult to automate indeed: Des Abend s (in the evening) but Frühlings Ruf, Des (the call of Spring). I would think that argues for keeping things under "D", but I'd still like to understand WP:de's rationale. I still can't find a print index that ignores articles; an English datapoint i...

Re: DefaultSort & German articles

I found the WP:de guidelines too, though not yet any related discussions (there are a few pages not in compliance, like [[Des Antonius von Padua Fischpredigt]] and [[La danza (Rossini)]]). What I would like to learn is whether there has been a general shift recently: my understanding is shaped by th...

DefaultSort & German articles

I'm not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere: [[Der Blumenbrief (Franz Schubert)]] sorts as " Blumenbrief, Der", before [[Das Abendroth, D 627 (Franz Schubert)]]. "Abendroth, Das" would make sense to an English-speaker, but those of us who have experience with German indices...

Re: Schubert & CheckMissing

Schubert's page is a hand maintained list (with a lot of links that have become redirects: e.g. ''An die Laute'' points to ''An die Laute, D 905''), and newer pages haven't been added yet. If you look at http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Franz_Schubert&curid=2620&diff=1194612&oldi...
