Re: Increasing universal access to CPDL via MusicXML

As one who has supplied some MusicXML files of works to someone for conversion to Braille, I heartily endorse the notion that MusicXML files of scores are welcome to be published, along with PDF, MP3 (or MIDI), and other source (eg. Finale or Sibelius) files. It would make sense for us to create a M...

Re: Adding music in Sexagesima page

Simply add [[category:Sexagesima]] to the page, usually at the bottom. Or, one may instead add it "by mention" in the Description, with a sentence that reads something like: "This is the Introit for {{cat|Sexagesima}}." This form displays "Sexagesima" as a link to Categ...

Re: Rant - Who sings Pie Jesu for Christmas ?

How really weird! Perhaps "Jesu" in the title and a complete lack of understanding of the text triggered "Crhistmas" ... who knows!

Re: New work linking to composer page

Hi Philip. Done, although I retained a link to the PDF congregational part up. If it's not to your liking and you want to remove that line, feel free to, or leave a note here.

Re: New work linking to composer page

I just checked, and you posted the congregational part correctly, so the work page for that part can be safely deleted (it won't destroy the PDF file which is stored separately). I'll do that now for you. Thanks for this work!

Re: new cpdl logo design?

I see Max must have already helped you upload it as File:Toplogo1.gif, with the old logo as FIle:Toplogo2.gif. As Manager of the ChoralWiki, I'm ready for Susan's new design (Toplogo1.gif) to be installed as a replacement now, at least on a trial basis, unless there are objections to the contrary. M...

Re: new cpdl logo design?

Hi Susan, It definitely looks more balanced with "CPDL" shifted slightly eastward the way you did it in your latest version (it's an optical effect that it looks more centered with the shift, even though it actually isn't centered, because of the presence of the treble clef). And I agree t...

Re: new cpdl logo design?

Hi Susan, The latest logo looks best so far. I do think that now the staff height is a little too small and the staff lines perhaps a little too fine. Maybe a 50% increase would improve things. I'm not sure about he placement of "CPDL" on the staff, though. I think I would opt for it being...

Re: RIP Stephen Paulus

Stephen Paulus was a great composer of choral music. He will be sorely missed. Thanks for posting, Vaarky. I've passed the word to my acquaintances and to MusicaSacra.

Re: new cpdl logo design?

Some history: CPDL was launched in late 1998, about two years before Wikipedia was born (Jan. 15, 2001). I don't know when the CPDL logo, designed by founder, Raf Ornes, became part of the site, but it was certainly on the website long before the (non-wiki) site was ported to the current ChoralWiki ...

Re: greetings, and a question

Hi Susan, The only edition of the Litaniae by Mozart is one by Michael Gibson (with keyboard reduction of the orchestral score). It's a good edition, though. If you want the full orchestral score, then you'll find it scanned at IMSLP. There are plenty of things you could do for us at the ChoralWiki,...
