Posting 15 midi files for one work

Hi

I am unsure how to proceed. I have used a scanning program to make midi files, of just those parts where the choir is involved, of Berlioz' "Enfance du Christ". I would like to post the midis on CPDL once the choir has had a chance to locate most of the errors. There are lots of smaller choral entries in this work, so I've ended up with 15 midi files.

If I use the zip program that comes with my GNU/Linux O/S to make a single compressed file, would that be a suitable format to upload these midis?

If not, what would be the recommendation?

Hi Peter! Thanks for your interest in sharing the midis, but CPDL is intended primarily for the publication of sheet music (accompanied or not by midi/source files). As we still don't have an edition of Berlioz' "Enfance du Christ" available, it won't be possible to add the midis, I guess. I'll check this issue with other admins.

With respect to your question: in general, uploading midis/sources in a zipped file is OK.

MIDI practice files are more the preserve of a website like The Silvis Woodshed, rather than CPDL; as Carlos explained the ideal is that MIDI files are an extra resource for a PDF vocal score. At present L'Enfance du Christ is only represented by the well-known L'Adieu des Bergers (in translation) from Part II, but it could be incorporated in a page for the entire work.
