I've noticed that it's gotten more difficult than in the past to use Google to search for works on CPDL. Has anybody else? Now and then a link to a PDF might appear, or to a topic that relates to the composer listed, or even the forums, but sometimes...crickets. For example, I'll look for "cpdl mendelssohn elijah" but even appending "CPDL" at the beginning doesn't bring up the relevant pages. IMSLP is there, but not CPDL. (The same search on Yahoo *does* show the pages on CPDL I would normally expect to see). What gives?

Good question! However, I did answer it in my query:

Given that google is usually the default search engine in many browsers, it seemed fair to ask what was going on. Also, I was wondering if anybody else noticed this happening?

However, it may be moot for now, because I can't seem to replicate the behavior I described. I should note that this was happening across browsers and devices, but (highly speculative) maybe was specific to my region? In any case, it no longer seems to be an issue. I'll post back here if I notice it again.

How to Make Google Show You the Good Search Results Again

Well, it's happening again. BarryJ, thanks for the link, that is informative (also the link related to getting around Google AI results). But for now, even using those tips and specifying CPDL in a search, the CPDL page results for "COMPOSER TITLE" are not showing up, only related Talk and Category pages.

I just put "DuckDuckGo Search" in my Google search bar (on Firefox), now I can search with that without changing my default search engine (Google). I tried searching on one of my recent composers, Samuel Wakefield. DuckDuckGo gives much more reasonable results, including several CPDL ones near the top, and even several links I didn't know about!
