Amazing Grace

Dear Sirs,
I am a buyer for a catalog in the US. We are looking for a Public Domain score of Amazing Grace that we can print on a product that we want to sell. Since I found the first one (Traditional) arranged by E.O. Excell (1851-1921) listed as Public Domain, is this well enough permission that allows me to use this score for my intended purpose? We would list all references at the top of the art as are laid out in the score. However, I only want to show the first verse of the sond, not all four verses. I just want to make sure we do not get in trouble for using this.
Please respond right away. Hoping to hear back soon.
Thanks.

Hello
CPDL contributors licence their editions under a variety of licences but some prefer to release their efforts to the public domain (or they determine that their creative contribution is not sufficiently significant to be able to claim copyright over it). In this case, the indication is that David King has released his edition to the public domain, though there is no firm affirmation on the score itself, just a note on the wiki page. I suggest you contact David directly by leaving a message on
his talk page.

Thank you. I would like to take your advice and contact him, but I can't seem to figure out how to add a note to his Talk Page. Please help.

The link informed by Rob was pointing to the mirror cpdl site at www2, which is not editable; the link was corrected, but you may wish to try writing David directly via his email address: cpdl (at) drking.co.uk

I emailed David, and I am waiting for his reply. I checked that link above again and I'm not getting anything different from before.

Carlos, where did you get David's email address from? It wasn't on his user page or any of his editions when I checked them.

Rob, it's the email that was informed by him in his submissions via the Add works form. That's one of the disadvantages of not having this form fully integrated into the wiki system.
eisenbeima17, you're welcome!

It would be good for us to modify the addscore form submissions to also save a copy to the local machine and include that running archive in our back-ups.
