Hi All
Would be very grateful for some suggestions as to appropriate pieces for a newly formed choir to sing a capella (SATB or SAB or two part) at a graduation ceremony. The pieces would need to be on the easy side and relatively short.
Many thanks to any of you who can suggest appropriate music

regards
:)

That Lonesome Road is a good song for graduation. The one by Deen E. Entsminger is short and has the tenor on melody most of the time, so that may or may not be a problem. SATB, fairly easy.

Hi Roisin,

The obvious suggestion is the international students' song, Gaudeamus igitur, which has long been sung at graduations, or any kind of student festival or function (and has been quoted in operas, and most notably features in the apotheosis of Brahms' Academic Festival Overture).

There are several versions of this song on CPDL; the one I edited is suitable for SATB, is short (can be arbitrarily lengthened by singing more verses) and easy.
