Just Intonation

Dear all,

as the thread on "Singing and Intonation" has somewhat drifted into a specialist discussion, I have started a new topic to bring attention to an excellent introduction to intonation for nonspecialists by Ross W. Duffin:

What I found expecially revealing is how outright ugly the equally tempered version of Example 6 sounds:

It might be, though for me the three players remain blank and therefore not functionnal. :(

Apparently, the audio samples require Quicktime, which is only available for MacOS X and Windows.
On Linux, you should be able to play the examples with mplayer, which is said to support the Quicktime format.

Thanks for the info and the links, however because of my bad experience with QT under Windows, I'll read comments with interest, rather than listening myself.
