Just Intonation

Dear all,
as the thread on "Singing and Intonation" has somewhat drifted into a specialist discussion, I have started a new topic to bring attention to an excellent introduction to intonation for nonspecialists by Ross W. Duffin:
http://mto.societymusictheory.org/issue ... uffin.html
What I found expecially revealing is how outright ugly the equally tempered version of Example 6 sounds:
http://mto.societymusictheory.org/issue ... n_ex6.html
Maybe others find this article useful as well,
Chris
