Solovoces hacked?

Post by Richard Mix »

Today Safari gives me a malware warning when I attempt to go to Fernando Gómez Jácome's page. Should I be concerned? ~~~~

I also received a warning from my Opera browser, but opened the page anyway and everything looks fine. I could open a score normally. If you have a trustworthy anti-virus, go ahead!

Is it Solovoces.com or Solovoces.org? I don't want to take any chances with this Windows box, but I tried the following things:

1. Putting Solovoces into a Googlesearch does not show a Google error next to the listing (an indication that Google is not finding malware), but the summary for www.solovoces.org/ does say H4cK3d By --H4X7OoR--. r0j@hotm4il.com. Even if it was hacked, it does not necessarily mean it is malware infecting, but I'd be concerned.

2. http://wepawet.iseclab.org/ scanning:
We have analyzed http://www.solovoces.com/ in the past. In particular:
* The last time we found it to be benign was at 2011-08-21 23:11:07.
* We never found it to be suspicious.
* We never found it to be malicious.

This is not definitive, however, but wepawet is reputed to be reasonably good.

Maybe we should e-mail the site to see what kind of answer we get. Does anyone want to try it? Even better if it's someone who speaks Spanish.

I would be most worrisome about solovoices.com, since it is that domain name that we use in our Template:Website.

E-mailing solovoces©yahoo.es (the address published on the SoloVoces.com web site) now to inquire.

Is it really necessary? solovoces.com is no longer displaying any warning message.

It's already done, but my thinking is that there's little downside in asking, especially in case the site is not aware of the activity and it was the hackers that made changes causing the warning to go away.
