Migration to a new server in progress

Post by choralia »

To solve the recurrent problems with high traffic load, CPDL has purchased a new hosting subscription that is supposed to manage a larger quantity of traffic and provide better control in the case of congestion.

The new server is up and running, although we still have to work a lot to achieve its final configuration. So, please apologize if any problems are encountered in the next days/weeks, as it's a completely new environment and there is a lot to learn about it. Several minor settings will have to be updated and tweaked. It's very powerful, hence it's also quite complicated.

DNSs worldwide are being re-programmed to direct http://www.cpdl.org to the new server. Most DNSs will be updated within 4 hours from now, however in some cases even one or two days may be required to receive the new settings. You will recognize that you are reaching the new server because the "read-only mode", currently set on the old server, has been reset to normal mode on the new server, so normal edit functions are available on it.

P.S.: the "old" server remains available for the moment at http://www.choralwiki.org, with restricted access and in read-only mode.

One day after the change, the new server remains unreachable to me.
DNS servers are slow to be refreshed.
Is it possible to know the IP address (numbers) of the new site?
Thanks for all your work.
Claude.

Hi Claude,

You don't need it any more, please read:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4712

So, we are going back to the old IP address, 74.54.72.146.
