Recorder player and beginning singer

Hello all,

I've been visiting this great site for some time now ; I've been playing recorders for a lot of years, and recently I've joinned a very small and modest Renaissance singing group.

I live in the very est of France, in a village about 18 miles north of Strasbourg where is the European parliament.

I appreciate this huge number of pieces made available here, tough I would perhaps wish some more normalization of the editors choices, and of references to the source(s) used to establich the score.

Regards ! Alain Naigeon

Hi Alain!

I'm glad you use CPDL so much! I always try to list the source of my editions by putting a note at the end of the score. It certainly reassures you of the authenticity of the score when you see a list of sources, doesn't it?

On the subject of normalisation of editor choices - it is usually difficult enough to get people to contribute to CPDL and I think laying down rules as how works should be edited would further discourage newcomers. However, some guidelines may not be a bad idea.

Anyone else?

Best wishes,

Robert

Hi Robert,

I just realize my spelling of "though" wasn't quite normalized itself :P
